Help: Airtel HD upgrade vs New connection

Hi,

I have Airtel SD connection, now the Upgrade to HD offer is available for 399/- with 2 month sub of HD Gold.

But I can avail better offer if I go for new connection.

New Mega + Max HD for 12 Month = 5490/-

Is there any catch, that I am missing ?

Is it valid to disconnect my current connection and apply for new connection in couple of days ?
If not, can I take new connection on my spouse name (same address) ?

Instead of disconnecting your present SD connection, how about going for upgradation now at Rs.399/- with 2 months free HD channels. After expiry of 2 months, you can go for 12 months advance rental (which as per their website for New Mega Max HD Rs.6812 with 60 days free).!

Alternatively, I think, you can cancel present connection and apply for new connection (normally no one do this when easy upgrade feature is available).

If you have Airtel local office near your area, suggest go and discuss with them about your plan or write to Airtel (do not talk to customer care) and get things clarified.
