Information
San Francisco, Aug 10: It seems like the world's largest social networking site Facebook is feeling the heat after the arrival of Google Plus. With the announcement of Google+, Facebook added Video Chat, Group Chat and Facebook for Business services. Now, Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg moves the war neck to neck by announcing a messenger service similar to Google+ Huddle.

Facebook has announced the launch of its messenger service called 'Facebook Messenger for Mobile'. This new service for smartphones lets users to message individual friends, or conduct group chat, send photos, and privately share location.

The new Facebook Messenger standalone app is available for iPhone in App Store and for Android users can download it from Android market.

By installing it, the app imports all existing Facebook inbox conversations. Users can start a chat by adding one or more of your Facebook friends or phone numbers from your phone’s contacts. Users can choose either Facebook or mobile to deliver messages.

Three main features Facebook Messenger app:

* Reach friends right on their phones – Send a message to your friends with Messenger, it goes directly to their mobile phones, so you stay in touch no matter where you go. Message any of your Facebook friends or anyone in your mobile contacts.
* Get and send messages fast – Get to your messages with one click. Mobile notifications also help make sure you never miss a message, from timely questions (”Need me to pick up anything?”) to last-minute changes of plans.
* Make plans with groups on the go – Trying to plan a night out with friends? Instead of sending individual messages to all the different people in your group, now you can add everyone to one simple conversation, so everyone can be in on the plan.

This new app works with ordinary mobiles also. Facebook users can still reply to messages sent using Messenger by confirming their mobile number to Facebook.
