Hathway, InCablenet, SitiCable, Manthan etc are the names of MSOs (Multi-System Operators). The Local Cable Operators (LCOs) are franchisees of these MSOs and relay the signals received from MSO on analog tv bands+few analog blank ch carrying digital channels. Hathway does not control or set local cable channels (It is managed by LCO with modulators, de-modulators and amplifiers)

But for digital cable, the head-end (with EPG and DTH like channel numbers, software menu) is managed by MSOs and shared by LCOs affiliated to them.
So in metros LCOs will have to shut down analog services. But other places will continue to receive analog tv till they reach complete digitization phase.

Bangalore is in Phase 2 of Digitization, so your LCO will abandon during that time.

Actually your Local Cable Operator affiliated to Hathway will stop Analog transmission, thereby allowing more Digital channels to be carried and received by your Hathway set-top box.

*Analog cable is the normal TV channels that we receive without using the set-top box.
