Help RED FM Pune reaches out to the Jawans through 'Sandese Aate Hain'
RED FM Pune will make this Diwali an outstanding one for the Jawans at the Wagah border through a special initiative called Sandese Aate Hain. This one of its kind initiative by RED FM, the station for expression, is giving its listeners a chance to send special Diwali messages for the Jawans. Pune-ites can either call in or SMS their names and messages to 58585. RED FM Pune's very own RJ Mandee will convey special "sandese" (messages) to the country's Jawans.

The station has already received thousands of SMS and phone calls from listeners as well as defence personnels who wanted to lend support to their brethren posted on the borders. Pune's Mayor Mr. Mohan Rajpal Singh, Commissioner of Police Meeran Borawankar and Commander Milan, speaking on behalf of the National Defence Academy, also recorded a special message for the jawans.

RJ Mandee, who hosts Red FM Pune's evening drive time show MH 935 (Mon-Sat 5-9 pm) will be traveling to the Wagah Border, carrying with her all the good wishes of Pune-ites. Adding glory to this will be the 93.5kgs of 'Punyachi Faral' a popular sweet, just for the Jawans to gorge on.

Nisha Narayanan, Senior VP, Projects and Programming, RED FM said: "Diwali being the widely celebrated festival across India denotes the feeling of 'togetherness'. It's a time for families and friends, for celebration and joy. Therefore, this Diwali we intend to make the Jawans feel loved and thank them for the sacrifices they have made, and continue to make, in safeguarding the borders of our country while staying away from their loved ones."
