Help Sony brings NEX Series Cameras in India..!
Claims these are the world's smallest interchangeable lens digital cameras

Sony India has officially launched its new NEX series cameras in India. Claimed to be the world's smallest and lightest interchangeable lens digital cameras, the NEX-3 and NEX-5 should be able to deliver D-SLR level quality in an ultra compact body.

Both cameras come with a 14.2 MP sensor, a tiltable 3-inch LCD viewfinder and a 3D Sweep Panaroma mode that shoots and creates a panoramic image using high-speed burst of frames as you sweep the camera from side to side (or up and down).

The SEL1855 zoom lens comes as part of the standard bundle.

The only difference between the the two is that the NEX-5 supports a 1080i video recording while the NEX-3 supports a 1280x720 video recording mode.

The good thing is that users can now choose from dedicated E-mount lens for wide-angle, standard zoom, high power zoom shooting, and optional ultra-wide angle and fisheye converters. Plus, an optional mount adaptor lets you use the full range of Sony system A-mount lens, including the digital SLR lens lineup.

All this does sound cool but you will have to pay a hefty price of about Rs. 30,000 for the NEX-3 and Rs. 35,000 for the NEX-5. and this is just the initial cost, if you do plan to buy lenses, then add at least another 35,000-40,000 bucks for a set of high zoom, macro and wide lenses.

The cameras are available in Sony outlets in Mumbai from December 11. However, the official launch took place today.

Going by the pictures, we must say, they do look good. We will soon update this space with details regarding how comfortable the cameras are to use and if you can think of replacing your D-SLR with this compact device.
