Help Sun TV appoints two media companies to expand into North American markets

Sun TV Network the leading Indian media corporation has appointed Global Media Management LLC and World Media Connect LLC to manage and grow its distribution and advertising business, respectively in North America.


Sun TV Network Ltd., is India's largest multilingual network comprising of over 20 channels, catering and offering television entertainment to varied audience segments. Sun TV network has been rated as the no.1 media company in south Asia and the Asia Pacific region by the independent international research agency, Media Partners Asia based on the EBITDA numbers of media companies in this region. Sun TV network has a viewership reach of over 95 mn Indian households.


The key focus behind this strategic move would be to diverge and expand into the North American markets by increasing subscription base and consecutively growing advertising revenues. This move also gives a competitive edge in distribution of services across varied platforms and promoting new television content to satisfy a diverse customer profile.


As part of this move, Sun TV has appointed Global Media Management LLC, a pioneering organization in the international television distribution business to operate, manage and grow the distribution of Sun TV's offering in the North American markets. It will offer services across DTH, cable TV and IPTV platforms over closed communications network in North America. Sun TV has also appointed World Media Connect LLC, an established organization in the media business, to exclusively handle and increase advertising revenues from the same market.


Ajay Vidyasagar, Chief Operating Officer, Sun TV Network Ltd., said, "This is a strategic move for us to further expand into global markets for our offerings. Tin's initiative is focused on better monetization of our content, both from the subscriber and the advertising revenue end. It also gives us a means to leverage our successful television brands to a larger and international audience, while maintaining a consistent and distinguished quality of services to the end customer."
