UTV Action, the dubbed action movie channel, has entered into a three-year movie deal with Sony Pictures Television (SPT).

As part of the deal, UTV Action gets the exclusive Hindi language telecast rights of 70 action films of SPT.

The deal gives recent titles like The Karate Kid, Resident Evil: Afterlife and Salt dubbed into Hindi.

Recently, UTV Action has had Indian television premieres of titles like Universal Soldier 3 and Forbidden Kingdom, even before their English language premieres, which has been the tradition so far.

UTV Action programming head Manasi Sapre says, “We aim to provide the best of action films to our viewers fastest. Sony Pictures Television needless to say, is one of the leaders in global action entertainment and through this association we aim to create fast access for Indian viewers to their content in Hindi- India’s leading language.”
