Hi all, I have a tata sky SD connection for 3 years in Bangalore with no problems whatsoever. Now for an HD connection for a 37" LCD TV, it dint make sense paying so much for a few HD channels. I have a choice between Airtel HD or Videocon HD. Need your expert opinion regarding my confusion here
1)The quality of picture of HD and SD . How different are these in Airtel and D2H?
2) My requirements are mainly English entertainment, sports [Football,F1, cricket occasionally] and tamil and kannada channels, all are available in both D2H and Airtel.
D2H offers more channels cheaper, but i wont be viewing most of them.
3) The interface and the remote, i loved the TS interface and remote. Haven't heard such great things abt D2H, Airtel seems to be ok.
4) Customer support - Though it was almost never necessary, would like to hear abt their services from existing customers.
Would be really helfpul if these queries are answered. Thanks guys.

Hi Fadetoblack,
Hope these answers your quries....
1. AFAIK, Airtel maintains good quality in both SD and HD channels. SD channel quality is better than d2h.
2. Airtel and D2H has almost all channels in sports category as well as English. Plus, all/most of the regional channels are available.
3. Airtel's remote is having universal remote feature; so far no issued faced. Dont know much about D2H's remote and its features.
4. Airtel's CC is famous for its worst responses/delays. Though the self care portal is good enough to manage the services.
regards,

Videocon is best in terms of technology, service and your channels demand. Airtel is also good but tech wise they are far behind. So Go to videocon d2h.

3d and dbs tech .. none of the dth providing such facility. now future belongs to 3D and ultra hd. Videcon has taken a first step in this world of tech.

Wasting money for 3D feature is not worth presently as it may take long time for programmes to be telecasted in 3D. Even, HD is still not that popular in India (may be because of expensive??) so let us not talk about 3D now.!!!!

Airtel is the best in every aspect, latest technology is always introduced by Airtel, Videocon is not ASLI in terms of all the latest technology.
