My friend, what you mean by Dish Size... Smile Receiver has nothing to do with Dish size...
Dish size is basically varies/or need to be checked, based on the footprint of the satellite you are trying to catch and your location. Just google more on dish setting and satellites, footprints etc, if you want to learn more on the basics of those...

And @ Topic: It cost around 6000/-INR in the market for new piece... (Available in Middle East).

Hello Mr.AB,
Humax set-top boxes are of high quality. I have been using Humax DVB-C stb for digital cable since the last 7 years without any issues.

The IRD 2000 model is purchased by many of my Keralite friends working in UAE.
The DVB-S2 8PSK Modulation Symbol Rate range is 10MsPs to 30MsPs (Other receivers have 2MsPs to 45MsPs)
It works fine for Intelsat 17 channels, but will not scan satellite beams with symbol rates higher than 30MsPs.
So free channels like CareWorld TV or D2H Music HD from ST2 satellite with sr 43978 will not be scanned or received.

The SR 30000 used by Intelsat 17 channels is just the highest limit of this box in DVB-S2 8PSK.

Thanks Vinay for the input... Yes, the symbol rate limitation is a real draw back; I think even DishTV' is also using such SR's.

It was a used one; seen in a classified here (two months old). I think i will not go for it; although i quoted for a lowest price, i think the guy wont agree to it.. Smile

Hi tmshuzain,
I have heard of the same issue with some of the receivers, especially Humax. Also, some of the channels on this particular TP' may get scanned, and does not give proper channel name, and it appear as "Namelesss" or some other default name by receiver. Chk if you are getting them like that...
I think they have done some fix, and update for this trouble.. hope some members, may disucuss further and give you some solution..
regards,
