With News Corporation planning a shakeup of its Star Asia's television operations, the group's head of Asian and European operations James Murdoch would directly control Star India's operations, foreign media reports say.
Quoting unnamed sources, Financial Times, London, has said Murdoch will head Star's Indian operations.
Star India, which is among the most profitable units of the group and currently reports to Hong Kong, will become independent and report directly to Murdoch.
Star India officials, however, refused to comment on the report when contacted by PTI.
"We won't be able to comment on it," a Star India official said.
However, sources in the industry said the development is something which is in the pipeline.
