India telecom Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Ltd (MNTL) has recently launched 3G/3.5G services in Delhi with high speed down link data access, offering features like video calling, live mobile TV and VOIP etc.
The services were initially launched in New Delhi Municipal Council area in New Delhi with 50 Node-B, however MTNL has quickly extended 3G coverage to Trans Yamuna, Central Delhi, South Delhi and NCR of Gurgaon with 225 Node-B(BTS). MTNL will very soon include NOIDA, Dwarka, Karolbagh, North-West and other remaining areas.
3G prepaid Jadoo service is now added to the bouquet of 3G services since prepaid is the preferred mode for most customers. Keeping with this trend, MTNL has lowered entry level for 3G services significantly.
In addition, 3G tariffs have been restructured to suit to the needs of prolific data users. Economical 3G data coupons to meet the individual needs are available in denominations of Rs 99/- upwards. The MTNL cellular data users can now roam in BSNL Network like home network at the same per megabyte data tariff.
MTNL is also launching roaming services for its CDMA Garuda subscribers between Delhi & Mumbai.
