MUMBAI: MTV, the youth entertainment channel from the Viacom18 stable, has a twin offering in its upcoming game show, Airtel MTV Connected. Premiering on 20 June at 7 pm, the show will replace Splitsvilla.
The new game show is all about twins and how well are the two connected. Hosted by VJ Nikhil Chinapa, the show will explore the myths and fascination associated with twins in 'MTV ishtyle'.
Donning the judge's cap for the show are twins Raghu Ram and Rajiv Lakshman, the duo behind MTV’s cult show Roadies.
Airtel MTV Connected will feature 10 twins, including Roadies 6 winner Nauman Sait and his twin Salman.
Says MTV India GM and SVP creative and content Ashish Patil, “Films have forever been obsessed with the double role story. We thought it’s time to bring the concept to the small screen. There is so much interest around the concept of twins and so many questions unanswered that this show will have you addicted from the word go.”
The contestants will be tested on how ‘connected’ they are and will be judged not on talent but how synchronised they are. At the end of each competition, the two teams with the lowest scores will be up for elimination and one set will exit every week. The last pair standing will win a trip to the Petronas Towers in Kuala Lumpur.
The channel has roped in Croma, the electronics megastore as its gizmo partner, PVR Cinemas as multiplex partner, IBN7 as news partner, Sykz Gym as fitness partner, and BJN’s Firangi Paani as night-out partner.
