The last few weeks have seen a flurry of smartphone launches in India. While Apple finally brought its third-generation iPhone 3GS to India, Motorola, Sony and LG too expanded their mobile portfolio in the country.
Motorola launched Milestone, said to be the Indian version of its popular Android-powered Motorola Droid. LG too added an Android-based phone to its Indian mobile lineup with LG GW620. Business phone maker BlackBerry boosted its Storm line up with the addition of Storm2.
Here's a specs-wise comparison of all these big launches (from Motorola, BlackBerry, Apple, Sony Ericsson and LG) to find out how they stand against each other.

Milestone: Measuring 115.8 x 60 x 13.7 mm, Milestone comes with 3.7-inch TFT display with 480 x 854 pixels. The phone weighs 165 grams.
Storm2: BlackBerry Storm2 features a 3.25-inch capacitive touchscreen with a resolution of 360 x 480 pixels. Storm2 doesn’t have a physical keyboard. Instead, it simulates the click of buttons with an electrical pulse when users touch the screen.
iPhone 3GS:iPhone 3G S comes with 3.5-inch LCD capacitive touchscreen display with 320 x 480 pixels. The phone measures 115.5 x 62 x 12.3 mm.
Xperia X10: Measuring 116 x 62 x 12 mm, Xperia X10 features a 4-inch TFT capacitive touchscreen display with 16M colors, 852 x 480 pixels. The phone has onscreen QWERTY keyboard.
LG GW620: The smartphone sports a 3-inch touchscreen display. It comes with a side slider QWERTY keypad.

Storm2: The new BlackBerry smartphone packs a 3.2 megapixel camera with 2x digital zoom, image stabilisation, autofocus, flash and video recording.
iPhone 3GS: The third-gen iPhone has a 3 megapixel camera with video capturing, auto-focus mechanism and editing capabilities. The earlier two versions shipped with only a 2 megapixel camera each.

Milestone: According to Motorola, Milestone is India's first Google Android 2.1-based smartphone. The phone is powered by ARM Cortex A8 processor.
Storm2: The phone comes with BlackBerry OS 5, the latest version of the BlackBerry smartphone OS.
iPhone 3GS: The current model runs on iPhone 3.1 OS. The phone is powered by ARM Cortex A8 processor.

Milestone: The phone comes pre-loaded with lifetime free access to voice-guided street-level navigable maps of 401 cities in India. The GPS navigation service does not need activation or data charges.
Storm2: The phone packs a 3.5mm headphone jack, as well as a media player for videos, pictures and music. The phone features a much faster web browser than the previous Storm. Storm2 boasts of RIM's SurePress technology that enables the screen to provide tactile feedback to the fingers while using the touchscreen.

Milestone: As for memory, the phone has 133MB of internal memory. It comes with 8GB memory capacity which can be expanded upto 32GB.
Storm2: Storm2 comes with 2GB of memory which can be extended to 32GB. The phone packs 256MB of Flash memory.
iPhone 3GS: Apple's third generation iPhone comes in two memory options, 16GB and 32GB. The phone has 256MB RAM. But iPhone 3GS doesn't have a card slot for further memory expansion.
Xperia X10: The phone has 1GB internal storage with 8GB card included.
LG GW620: The phone comes with 150MB of internal memory. Memory can be expanded up to 32GB.

Storm2: The phone's battery provides upto 6 hours of talktime on 3G networks and 280 hours of standby time.
iPhone 3GS: Apple claims that iPhone 3GS supports up to 12 hours of talktime, 30 hours of audio, 9 hours of Wi-Fi, 10 hours on video playback, and 5 hours of 3G talktime.
Xperia X10: According to reports, the phone promises talktime of upto 10 hours.

Milestone: For connectivity, the phone comes with Stereo Bluetooth v2.1, WiFi, aGPS and USB2.0.
Storm2: The handset also has 3G capabilities, GPS, Bluetooth 2.1, and can add new programnes from the BlackBerry App World. The phone also has Wi-Fi capability like some of the other devices in the BlackBerry lineup.

Milestone: Motorola's Milestone comes for Rs 32,990.
Storm2: The phone is available for Rs 31,990.
iPhone 3GS: In India Vodafone sells iPhone 3GS ranging from Rs 29,500 onwards. Airtel sells the 16GB version for Rs 35,500 and 32GB for Rs 41,500. The 8GB model is priced at Rs 29,500.
Xperia X10: The phone is priced at Rs 35,795.
LG GW620: It is priced at Rs 16,490.
