Mohammad Yousuf comes back into Test team

Mohammad Yousuf has come out of retirement to bolster Pakistan’s struggling batting line-up for the remaining three matches against England after recording the second heaviest test defeat in the nation’s history.

The Pakistan Cricket Board also selected uncapped left-arm spinner Raza Hasan and dropped out-of-form leg-spinner Danish Kaneria from the squad after he took 1-171 as Pakistan lost the first test to England by 354 runs on Sunday in Nottingham.

Pakistan’s worst test loss was to Australia by 491 runs at Perth in 2004.

Yousuf retired from international cricket in March after the PCB suspended him indefinitely for alleged infighting during the recent winless tour of Australia.

The second test starts on Friday in Birmingham.
