News Broadcasting Standards (Disputes Redressal) Authority, the self regulatory body of the News Broadcasters Association (NBA), has pulled up NDTV India over a story on an eye bank.
The disputes redressal authority has asked the Hindi news channel from NDTV group to apologise as it has violated the "Code of Ethics and Broadcasting Standards and Guidelines", while working on the story, PTI reported.
In his order, Authority chairman and former Supreme Court Chief Justice JS Verma directed the channel to run an apology as a scroll and also an announcement saying that it did not intend any harm to Eye Bank Coordination and Research Centre (EBCRC) and Arpan Eye Bank, against which the story on "alleged malpractices" was based.
