**Need Help**
When I connect an 8gb pen drive my Airtel HD+ STB is able to format it and I am able to record programmes. But when I try to connect my 520gb Transcend Hard Drive it tries to format it but fails with an error saying unable to format your hard drive, please try with some other drive. I have already formatted my hard drive to FAT32 using a software.
My hard drive is fine and I am able to use it on my laptop normally.
Can someone please tell me what is the issue? Is there a maximum size to hard drive that STB only detects?

Thanks for this jenius-jatt, but i need a simpler way of connecting my external hard drive. I believe it should be just plug and play, just not sure why STB is unable to format it?

and all External HDD'S are Plug & Play ,But your main problem is that HDD is not being recognized by your stb means it must show the actually Size of HDD in Detection mode of your stb, So if possible show me your ss (Image) of HDD Detection or Menu of HDD section so that I can help you properly.
DID IT SHOW ANY PARTITION LIKE THIS IN SS:-
May be your stb not recognizing the HDD due to large capacity so make at least two or three partition .Do post one ss of menu etc.
All good quality STB'S have support for larger HDD disks .Transcend is a good company but you didn't mention your drive is HDD or SSD ?
