CASBAA today announced expansion of its footprint in the subcontinent market with addition of three market leaders as members of the Association.

Bharti Airtel, NDTV and Star TV India have signed on the membership of the Cable & Satellite Broadcasting Association of Asia (CASBAA) as its new corporate members underlining a powerful expansion of its Indian agenda.

Bharti Airtel is the leading telecommunications service provider in India and joins CASBAA as a specialist delivering telecom-to-media services. NDTV Group is a leading news content provider in the subcontinent through its 24/7 news channels NDTV 24X7, NDTV India and NDTV Metro Nation along with its digital operations delivering news developments on the digital platforms. In line with this market growth, as a regional body with a domestic agenda, CASBAA continues to increase its commitment to India through undertaking conferences, issuing reports and regularly engaging with policy-making government bodies on key industry issues.

According to Anjan Mitra, the CASBAA Executive Director, India, “as part of our communications strategy we have been telling the 'India Story' to the international broadcasting and investment communities, the new partnerships with Bharti Airtel, NDTV and Star TV India will benefit all parties.”

CASBAA is an association dedicated to promoting multi-channel television via cable, satellite, broadband and wireless video networks across the Asia Pacific. CASBAA represents some 130 member organisations in the pay-TV business, which in turn serves more than three billion people.
