No Objection Certificate from CSA for Its IPL Bound Players

The great cricket news for Indian Premier League - cricket South Africa has publicly announced that it is not averse to the idea of its national players participating in upcoming IPL cricket tournament. This comes as an energy booster for this year’s IPL which has been shrouded in confusion from the very beginning.

Here is the breaking news---CSA comes out to be the bravest cricket board in the whole world. While, the rest of the world has gone jittery in the aftermath of militants attack on the Sri Lankan cricketer, Cricket South Africa makes a towering exception by declaring that it has no objection in sending its players to participate in India’s upcoming Tweenty-20 cricket tournament.

Some of the most expensive Indian Premier League contracted players---England’s Pietersen and Flintoff and New Zealand’s Jacob Oram---have earlier informed the cricket news media that they might consider a pull out form the upcoming cricket T-20 tournament in India. In a recent statement, ex-south African skipper Martin Crowe wrote that India is no safer than Pakistan. While all these contributed to the negative image of India, jeopardizing the fate of million dollar Indian Premier league, CSA‘s recent decision is sure to send across positive message across the international cricket circuit.

Cricket South Africa spokesperson Michael Owen-Smith said on Monday that board will not stop its players from playing in IPL, because in its opinion, safety of the players is more a concern of the player himself and the team for which it is playing. “Cricket SA has taken no decision objecting to our players being involved in the Indian Premier League. Any suggestion to the contrary is not true,” was all that Owen-Smith told PTI.

The announcement of the date for country’s general election sparked off confusion relating to clashing dates and venues. Some of the states have to hold matches outside of their home states. When the picture is gleam in the home ground, it is no brighter outside. With many key players hinting at a possible skipping out if this year’s tournament, the Indian Premier League in its second season is going to be a lackluster affair, as fears the concerned blocks. In this situation, CSA deserves thumbs-up for their courageous stand for sending players to attend the cash rich tournament that is scheduled to start from April 10. After all, the world must realize that there is basic difference between two states---India is a resourceful country capable of taking good care of its guest teams. The BCCI owned IPL is a responsible body which is working out solid security planning. The team or board or any individual that turns down IPL because terrorists have attacked the cricketers in Pakistan will make a big mistake, for the simple reason….India does not breed terrorism, it fights against it.
