Nokia Finally Unveils N97 Mini in India

Nokia has finally unveiled in India the new addition to its N-series range, the Nokia N97 mini. The device was launched during Nokia N-Tour-Age, an interactive-technology-solutions showcase of Nokia’s premium devices and services which is also going to be held here in Mumbai.

Here’s a quick look at the N97 Mini’s features -

* 3.2-inch TFT touchscreen with a 360 x 640 pixel resolution
* Slide out QWERTY keypad
* GPS with A-GPS Support
* Bluetooth 2.0 with A2DP, USB 2.0
* 5 megapixel camera
* 8GB of on-board storage space, external memory support (microSD) up to 16GB
* 3.5mm handsfree socket

Users can personalize the new homescreen of their device with different applications and services available from the Ovi Store. From games, videos and podcasts to productivity tools and web services, Ovi Store is the easiest way to fill theNokia N97 mini’s homescreen with applications that reflect individual tastes. The N97 mini also comes in partnership with Facebook. Lifecasting with Ovi is the first application to let people publish their location and status updates directly to their Facebook account from the home screen of a mobile device. Lifecasting with Ovi is available onNokia N97 mini via Nokia Beta Labs.

V Ramnath, Director-Operator Channels, Nokia India, said “More and more people today want to bring their physical and online worlds together via the internet. TheNokia N97 mini is designed for this new social internet and to help navigate people and places. Moreover, it comes in a pocket-friendly size for those out and about. With live feeds, personalized content, Lifecasting with Ovi, Ovi Mail and Ovi Store, the N97 mini provides web centricity to user in a compact case.”

Consumers can also win a Nokia N97 mini by solving a few cryptic clues online. All one needs to go is visit, open an Ovi Store id, perform a task on the Ovi Store and answer a few questions on the N97 mini. The contest would be open till November 24, 2009 and 4 winners will be shortlisted by a panel of judges. Two winners will take home an N97 mini every week.

Available in three stylish colors, viz, Cheery black, Garnet and White, the Nokia N97 mini will start shipping in the last week of November 2009 at an MRP of Rs. 30,939. However Nokia has announced an exciting online registration offer for N97 mini enthusiasts across the country, starting November 23, 2009. To be amongst one of the first to own a new Nokia N97 mini, consumers can register online by logging on to and filling up a simple form.
