Reliance Communications, India's No. 2 mobile operator, on Friday slashed SMS charges, further heating up an ongoing price war in the
Indian mobile market.
Reliance said that it would charge customers just 1 paisa per SMS in a new bill plan.
The company also launched another plan where customers can send unlimited text messages by paying Rs 1 a day.
Currently operators charge between 0.5 and Rs 1 for local and national SMSes.
