S Tel launches TTFT plan in Bihar & Jharkhand
S Tel has launched, “Talk Today, Free Tomorrow” (TTFT) - for its new and existing customers in Bihar and Jharkhand, an innovative and simple plan aimed at uncomplicating the lives of mobile phone users.

On the occasion of TTFT launch, Mr. Shamik Das, Chief Executive Officer, S Tel said, “S Tel prides itself in being able to identify and cater to the unaddressed needs of the communities and offer relevant products and services. The 'Talk Today, Free Tomorrow' plan is an outcome of our efforts in this path, and aims to encourage mobile users to stay connected with their near and dear ones throughout the day…for days…”

Commenting on company’s reach and expansion plans for Bihar and Jharkhand market, Das said, “We are excited to have garnered a sizeable subscriber base in the region and continue to witness an encouraging growth. Launched in December 2009, we have made our services available in 111 towns and 4400 villages across the states with our state of the art, 3G ready network of 1314 towers. We plan to further scale up our presence in the region and aim to cover 200 towns and 25000 villages in a year’s time, thereby spanning 92% of the towns and covering more than 40% of the population in the circle. To meet this goal we plan to increase our existing tower strength from 1314 to 3100 by July 2011”, he added.

Patna, Ranchi, Muzaffarpur, Gaya, Bhagalpur, Darbhanga, Jamshedpur, Dhanbad and Bokaro are some key locations among the 57 towns in which S Tel’s services can be accessed presently. Being a brand that speaks the language of the local communities and 'belong' to them, it resonates in everything company does – be it tariffs, VAS, customer care or distribution. Building an emotional connect by reaffirming the identity of the target audience by using iconic imagery of regional landmarks and figures thereby evoking a strong sense of pride amongst them is the characteristic of S Tel’s brand communication.

Priced at Rs.57 for new and Rs.19 for existing subscribers, the TTFT plan allows customers to enjoy as many free local minutes the next day as are utilized by them today. Consumers availing this plan will be informed through an SMS regarding the FREE minutes available to him/her every day. Alternatively, customers can also check their free local balance at any point by dialing *118# from their mobile phones. The offer comes with a validity of 6 months and the product becomes active immediately on purchase.

Raj Kumar VK, Vice President- Marketing & Sales, said, “We expect TTFT to be popular with customers who have moderate to heavy mobile usage. These customers are often confused by the plethora of plans in the market and the hidden clauses that disguise the net expense to the customer. S Tel's endeavour to break this clutter and offer simple and transparent products is in line with the TTFT offer that we are bringing to our customers today. If the caller translates the minutes earned everyday into the effective call rate applicable to him, he will find TTFT to be the most affordable plan available for local calling in Bihar & Jharkhand market at this point. Considering that the bulk of calls made by users in the region are local, we anticipate that this plan will see huge customer traction.”

“S Tel pioneered the practice of providing bulk minutes on purchase of an STV (Special Tariff Voucher) wherein it offered first of its kind daily, monthly and yearly bulk minute plans for low, mid and high user segments. TTFT is yet another offering aligned to this concept. Presently, S Tel also offers tariffs of STD @ 40p/min across India and ISD @ 5p/sec to top international destinations. We also intend to aggressively expand our distributorship network to ensure ease of access to customers in the region. In the next 12 months we aim to more than double the number of our distributors from 85 to 200 and scale up our points of sales from the present 16,500 to 30,000 ” He further added.

S Tel offers a bouquet of competitively priced VAS services on both, SMS and voice platform. Its premium SMS alerts come at just Re. 1 / SMS. Customers have the option to subscribe to different SMS subscription packs for Cricket, Jokes, News at just Rs. 15 per month. Subscriber can also access voice portal services focused on mobile education, exam results, government jobs, etc at this same price point. S Tel subscribers of Bihar can now listen to non-stop music on S Tel Apni Dhun, mobile radio service with song dedication, ringtone download option.

To continue with its focus on core regional offerings, the company will launch regional voice portal by end of this month. It will extend mobile commerce solutions such as railway and air ticketing, mobile wallet as well as innovative regional social networking platforms to its audience in the region in the last quarter of this financial year. The upcoming service includes exciting voice based chat service, which enable S Tel users to make new friends.

S Tel’s message to the people of Bihar “Aapka Apna phone” is aligned to its brand philosophy of understanding the needs of local people and speaking their language. The company offers a set of differentiated VAS that is localized & delivered in Bhojpuri and Maithili. These services include Astrology by a Live Pundit in Hindi and Bhojpuri as well as Caller Tunes which consist of more than 2,000 Bhojpuri songs including those in the voice of famous singers like Manoj Tiwari, Ravi Kishan, Udit Narayan, Guddu Rangeela. Setting a new trend, the company has started sending SMS on promotional offers to customers in Hindi language.

The company offers swift resolution of customer queries wherein over 90% of customer calls are attended within 10 seconds of the caller opting to speak with the customer care representative. I-Care program, a unique initiative by S Tel, is aimed at removing the pain points of the retailer. Retailers can talk directly to the customer care agent without having to go through the IVR and can also expect their concerns to be resolved within 30 minutes of initiation of the call. S Tel’s world class call centre at Kolkata is managed by Tech Mahindra and addresses queries for customers in Hindi languages.

By engaging world renowned, industry wide accepted research agency IMRB, S Tel conducted CSMM (Customer Satisfaction Measurement & Management) survey across trade and consumers present in all its circle of operation. The unique initiative of this survey was ‘Trade Satisfaction Measurement’ to assess needs & expectations of its channel partners and current satisfaction levels. Within 4 months of company launch, S Tel pioneered in setting a new benchmark in the Indian Telecom arena with this unique initiative.

S Tel customer care in Bihar can be reached at 9128012345 from any landline or mobile number. Besides this, S Tel users can access the toll free customer care number 1212
