KOLKATA: The state government seems to be okay with the new IPL dates announced by the ministry of home affairs. "We have just received the new dates. The ministry wants to finish the matches by April 26," home secretary Ardhendu Sen said at Writers' on Tuesday.

The home secretary insisted that the decision to accept or reject the new dates would be taken by chief secretary Asok Mohan Chakrabarti, who is currently in Darjeeling. "The decision will be taken by him after he comes back on Wednesday," Sen said. "We have raised objections to the May 4 date because the second phase of elections in the state is on May 7. But we shouldn't have any problem with the new date of the last match (April 26)."
