Sterlite claims credit for enabling MTNL to offer prepaid broadband services

Sterlite Technologies Ltd claims that its Prepaid Broadband solution has enabled PSU, MTNL to offer the recently launched Prepaid Broadband services. The company also says that its Prepaid Broadband Solution for leverages common network hardware & software assets to provide MTNL with network scalability.

Mr R S P Sinha, CMD, MTNL said, “MTNL Broadband service is the No1 broadband service in Mumbai and is constantly progressing in term of customer numbers and revenues. The broadband connections are being provided on demand in almost all the areas of Mumbai. We have introduced manycustomer friendly plans in postpaid broadband from time to time and the prepaid broadband will be another customer friendly initiative which will give flexibility to customers to control their usage. I am confident that prepaid scheme will also be as popular as existing broadband plans.”

Mr. Rahul Sharma, Head – Integration & Managed Services Business, Sterlite Technologies Limited said, “Our association with MTNL goes back over two decades with Sterlite’s supply of our Fiber Optic Cables & Copper Telecom Cables. The development of the end-to-end broadband solution has been a rich learning experience for us and we are grateful to MTNL for selecting Sterlite as a partner in this initiative.”

Sterlite is also providing end-to-end solution to MTNL including OSS/BSS. As part of the deal, Sterlite has to provide project management, installation and deployment, network operations, network maintenance, integration and testing services.
