Switching to Dish True HD+ from Tata Sky+ HD

Hello everyone

I used to browse through this excellent forum since long time but never tried to register here. I have learned a lots of things from all experienced members here.

Today I registered in this forum to get some help from you all.

I'm using Tata Sky DTH since 3 years approx and never had any problem with it. Currently I'm using Tata Sky + HD.

I'm disappointed that Tata Sky is not adding any new channels. There are only 10 HD channels.

On the other hand there are much more HD channels in Dish TV. Also number of total channels are much more than Tata Sky.

Now I want to ditch Tata Sky and purchase Dish True HD+ connection. I have some questions regarding it:

1. Will I get any refund from Tata Sky if I surrender the connection?

2. If not, should I contact them and tell them that I want to terminate my connection? Or if I don't contact them, will the connection automatically terminate when my payment ends?

3. Can I use my existing Tata Sky + HD box with Dish True HD+?

4. Currently I'm using Tata Sky annual plan which has an advantage that if a new channel is introduced by Tata Sky, it'll be automatically added to my subscription without any additional fees. I love this plan. I want to know is there any similar annual plan available in Dish True HD?

I'll really appreciate if you guys answer my questions. Thanks in advance.

no one dth refund the amount,you no need to surrender your dish properties.

yes ,when your subscription period end then your connection terminated automatically .

no,you must buy new from dish true HD.

i am not getting any idea about dish TV,but this future available on airtel HD(magnum
Rs.593) and videocon hd (platinum HD Rs.462).

my personal opinion is go with videocon or airtel,dish TV is more costliest in packages.
channel count wise minimum differences their(airtel 300channels,dish 292 channels,videocon 310 channels)

If Dish TV doesnt have any annual subscription plan similar to Tata Sky which provides all new channels free of cost within subscription year, I'll not go with Dish TV.

And regarding Videocon HD+ service, is it as better as Tata Sky and Dish TV? I feel that Videocon DTH is not that successful. Should I go for Videocon DTH?

videocon dth hardware (no 5.1 or 7.1 digital audio out) not good as compare with airtel,but their next version (January 2013) may fulfill all our requirement.

videocon:
1.now they are providing High Definition Digital Sound (low volume problem their),picture quality is acceptable.
2.package price is low,you cant compare with others.

airtel:
you are a quality lover? please go with airtel,package cost is acceptable.
they are frequently adding some channels.(at least one channel for month).

^^ Thanks again for your reply. I want a perfect DTH which provides maximum channels and almost all important channels which other DTH services provide.

My problem with Tata Sky is lower amount of channels. So is AirTel better than Videocon? I dont mind the package prices.

Suggest not count for number of channels any DTH have ( no subscriber is watching all 300 or round about channels all the time.!), instead see if your most required or preferred channels are available in any DTH and also compare the PQ and SQ and then go for it. It is going to be HD future so go for a DTH which have more True HD channels.

As I told I'm currently using Annual Mega pack in Tata Sky and I can watch all existing and all new channels within year. If no other DTH service provides such plan, I'll not switch.

Not at all. As per the agreement we sign before taking fresh connection, all the CPE (Consumer Premises Equipment - STB, Dish, LNB, Smart Card & Remote) are the property of DTH Operator. One fine day they will take them back

Can you please provide any official page of AirTel and Videocon which clearly mentions that all upcoming channels will be available for free to annual pack subscribers? I could not find any such line in their plans page. Tata Sky clearly mentions it.
