New Delhi (PTI) Broadcast tribunal TDSAT has referred the dispute between Direct-to-Home operator Dish TV and South-based broadcaster Sun TV Network over the terms and conditions of their agreement and the subscriber base for mediation.
The Telecom Disputes Settlement and Appellate Tribunal (TDSAT) has referred the dispute to its former member D. P. Sehgal for mediation after the counsel appearing for Sun TV asked for it.
"This matter is referred to mediation by Lt Gen Sehgal.Let the papers be sent to him and the parties should approach him to have the date for appearance fixed ... ," said the TDSAT Bench headed by Justice Arun Kumar.
During the proceedings, Pratibha Maninder Singh, counsel for Dish TV, said the dispute between them regarding the pricing of the channels is almost settled but certain other commercial terms on the reference interconnection offer (RIO) are yet to be resolved.
The RIO is a set of terms and conditions that a broadcaster puts on its website, based on which operators approach and enter into an agreement with it.
