UTV Bindass drops 'UTV' from its name, dons a new logo and changes the tag line to 'Rest Less' from today.

Bindass, the 360 degree Indian youth entertainment brand is all set to undergo a mega transformation beginning April 16. The transformation will involve a new brand campaign that will position Bindass as a brand that encourages its core TG of youngsters between 17 and 24 years of age to act now to achieve their dreams! The fresh positioning is reflected in the new motto of the brand – ‘Rest Less’ - There are those who rest less and then there are the rest.
Bindass as an achiever brand aims to inspire and will encompass qualities like Grit, Style and Success. The youth today exist in an environment of Fragile Invincibility which is comprised of hyper competition across numerous opportunities in a country like India. Yet they are able to overcome the environment and succeed due to a constant spirit of ‘Can do’. The new brand campaign of Bindass depicts this ‘Rest Less Do More’ attitude.

As brand Bindass, we have to keep pace with the changing youth landscape in order to stay relevant. This broad basing of our brand is centered around celebrating success by offering youngsters a Bindass call to action – Rest Less, Do More and you will succeed. This credo will infuse every element of our brand whether TV, events, in the digital space or with branded consumer products and services we launch. Bindass is the spirit of young successful India.”
The unveiling of the refreshed identity on April 16, will see the logo of brand Bindass being transformed from a static to a dynamic one aptly depicting the Rest-Less philosophy. The creative’s of the brand on-and off air will also see renditions of this dynamic logo which will be coupled with an all new packaging on-air.
The new brand positioning is based on a thorough research by MarketGate that reveals that over the years India’s youth have been desperate engines with conservative rudders who challenge their fate and activate their destiny as per their dreams.
Shripad Nadkarni, Founder Director at MarketGate Consulting, says, “Our consumer research indicated that the youth has moved beyond passive optimism and are bustling with ideas and have a sense of urgency attached to their ambitions. We decided to reflect this spirit of purposive
dynamism into the brand’s refreshed positioning as we believe the Indian youth is in the middle of one of the most exciting times.”
Taproot India is the force behind the vibrant creative’s of the new brand campaign that signify the new brand philosophy ‘Rest-less’. Agnello Dias, Chairman and Co-founder, Taproot India, says, “A key trait that marks youth behaviour today is a sense of constant motion; everyone is either going somewhere or doing something all the time. This non-stop motion, well-channelized is the new objective ideal. Settling down is fast going down the priority list. The bubbling undercurrents of discovery, exploration, invention, challenge, action seem to top that list. The new brand campaign for Bindass captures precisely this, that the youth today are ‘Rest Less’ and actually rest even lesser. We had earlier worked on Bindass’ immensely successful ‘What I am’ campaign as well which really caught on with the youth and this time around with Rest Less we hope to continue connecting with them yet again.”
The new positioning would also be reflected in the programming strategy of the channel which will reiterate the brand philosophy by encouraging the youth to act now to express themselves. The first show that takes the Rest-less philosophy forward will be ‘Live Out Loud – Its Now or Never’ that premiers on Bindass on April 28th, Sat at 7pm. This show adopts a unique format that encourages the youth to express themselves by using the Bindass Dance Squad - which comprises of around 250 co-coordinated dancers who will help you speak your heart out and express yourself shedding inhibitions.
The brand identity launch would be escorted with a host of marketing initiatives. In order to give its viewers a taste of the ‘rest less’ attitude, the channel will host a ‘Live more Rest-less’ contest wherein youngsters need to post images and videos of them being Rest-less. The lucky winners get a once in a lifetime opportunity and the unmatched thrill of swimming with the great white sharks in South Africa!
On the digital front a unique initiative is lined up where brand Bindass will own Facebook for an entire day and leverage the platform of FB to spread the message of being Rest less. The brand unveiling would be followed by an extensive outdoor campaign as well with OOH across Mumbai, Delhi, Bangalore, Kolkata and Pune.
The new brand campaign will be launched through colourful, vibrant and clutter-breaking graphics; a series of creative’s and channel ID’s.
