Last month, India’s leading telecom service provider, Bharti Airtel, introduced VoLTE Beta program for select users in West Bengal, Odisha, Assam, Kerala, Bihar, Punjab and Andhra Pradesh. Under the program, users can test the technology, and get free data benefits in return. Now, the telecom operator has silently rolled out the beta program in Rajasthan and Delhi circles.

Interested users in the above-mentioned circles can head over to Airtel VoLTE beta page to check their eligibility. Users need to scroll down and enter their mobile number in the “Validate Mobile Number” column. An OTP will be sent for verification, and once verified, the confirmation SMS about participation in the beta program will also be sent to the users. Do note, you’ll need an active Airtel 4G SIM and a VoLTE-enabled smartphone to become eligible for the program.

When it comes to data benefits, users will get 30GB free high-speed 4G data. To begin with, users need to ensure they have the latest software on their smartphone and enable VoLTE in settings. Once this is complete, 10GB data will be credited to the user account.

After 4 weeks of usage, users have to provide feedback about the service, after with the next 10GB data will be credited within 4 days. And finally, after 8 weeks of usage, the user has to provide the final feedback, after with the remaining 10GB data will be credited.

Airtel, on its product page has mentioned that VoLTE service offers users an ability to make HD voice calls. Calls connect up to 3 times faster compared to normal calls, and having 4G VoLTE enabled does not disconnect 4G data when making calls. Do note, as the VoLTE service is in beta, the network may be patchy at times. You may come across times where the network in particular areas could be weak, and mobile data may not work at times.

As of now, Airtel officially provides VoLTE services in Maharashtra and Goa, Mumbai, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, Karnataka, Kolkata, Chennai, Chhattisgarh, Andhra Pradesh & Telangana. More circles are likely to be added over the coming months.
