Update: Airtel announces postpaid plans for iPhone 5

As Apple prepares to launch the iPhone 5 in India later today, Airtel has announced postpaid plans for Apple’s latest and greatest smartphone. With its new plans Airtel is basically offering iPhone 5 users a 50 percent discount on their monthly usage. Airtel has announced four plans.

   

The cheapest one starts at Rs 300, which gives 200 MB of 3G data, 300 SMSs and 500 minutes of call time.
The Rs 500 plans offers users 500 MB of 3G data, 400 SMSs and 900 minutes of call time.
The Rs 800 plan offers users 1.2GB of 3G data, 500 SMSs, and 1,400 minutes of call time.
The most expensive plan costs Rs 1,000 and it offers users 3GB of 3G data, 600 SMSs, and 1,500 minutes of call time.

Aircel, one of India’s leading telecom operators, on Wednesday announced that it would offer a range of exciting usage plans for iPhone 5 from November 2. This will allow customers to connect to its fast HSPA+ network.

Airtel and Aircel have has already started taking pre-order for this much awaited device. According to the websites of both the operators, preorders start at Rs 45,000 for the 16GB variant while the 64GB model has been priced at Rs 59,500.

iPhone 5 is the thinnest and lightest iPhone ever, completely redesigned to feature a stunning new 4-inch Retina display; an Apple-designed A6 chip for blazing fast performance; and ultrafast wireless technology, all while delivering even better battery life.

iPhone 5 comes with iOS 6, the world’s most advanced mobile operating system with over 200 new features including Shared Photo Streams, Facebook integration, all-new Maps app and Passbook organization
