Update: Bigflix dons new look
Jism 2 available on from 16 August has announced that its latest offering Jism 2, will be available to viewers from 16 August.

Jism 2, the film which hit theatres in India on 3 August, is positioned as the film to have boldly broken through India's stodgy old Victorian morals. Directed by Pooja Bhatt, the espionage thriller involves assassination, sex, intrigue and the surprise element of double jeopardy. The film, that stars Randeep Hooda, Arunoday Singh, marks the debut of Sunny Leone in Bollywood.

BIGFLIX will offer Jism 2 across tablets and smartphones.

Besides convenience, latest releases like Jism 2 with a nominal subscription fee of $4.99 per month, BIGFLIX offers an exhaustive library of more than 1000 films spanning across all Indian languages (Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, etc) and genres.

BigFlix launches Windows phone app

Movie on demand service BigFlix has launched an app on Windows Phone, allowing users to access over 1000 movies.

The company has a catalogue of multi-lingual Indian movies and also hand-picked Indian films - within 15 days of its theatrical release. Films like 'Jism 2', 'Bodyguard' and 'Fashion' can be watched at the user’s convenience - anywhere, anytime.

The BigFlix app can be downloaded free of cost by Windows Phone users by going to the Windows Marketplace and a simple clicking on the app.

Users can subscribe to watch full movies and the same logins would also work on PCs and laptops, Tablets and other smartphones.

"This is the first Indian video-on-demand app available on Windows Phone, featuring movies across languages Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and others in DVD like quality. With the launch of the new range of mobile devices – powered by Windows Phone, Microsoft is aiming to strengthen its position in the global smartphone market," BigFlix said.

In the last year, mobile devices running on Windows Phone 7.5 have grown among smartphone users in India. The OS has been built to let users enjoy a multimedia experience on mobile devices, which is leveraged by apps like BigFlix.

BigFlix business head Shreyash Sigtia said, “Microsoft has set technical specifications for all their devices, which lend themselves well to high-quality content on all the smartphones powered by Windows Phone. With the mobile platform becoming popular with high-end smartphones users globally, BigFlix aims to fulfill the need gap of Indian movies on Windows Phone. I am sure that the BigFlix app will be able to achieve the same success it has witnessed on iOS and Android on the Windows Phone platform too.”

Microsoft India director - Windows Phone Business Group Vineet Durani said, “All of us love our daily dose of movies and Bollywood and BigFlix gives you yet another compelling reason to stay glued to your Windows Phone. With no ads and no breaks between you and the latest film; watching films via BigFlix is pure pleasure.”

Microsoft adds that Windows Marketplace has been growing with more than 100,000 apps in less than a year since the launch of the Windows Phone 7.5 in India.

Reliance Entertainment Digital has unveiled a new user interface for its movies on demand service,

The enhanced user interface provides optimised browsing options with an easy navigation.

With this, users can easily discover the movie of their choice. With language as key navigation on the site, one can easily jump to his favorite language, use the large filters to select favorite genre or take a look at the new additions to catalogue in 'Now Available' section. The discovery is further aided by using the newly launched 'Collections'. Various collections like 'BIG B Special', 'Rajni the Boss', Deadly Devgan', 'National Award Winners', 'Old is Gold', 'Best of Bengal', 'Malyalam Megastars', 'Vintage Kollywood', 'Best of Mollywood' and 'Telugu Talkies' have been added to start with.

For the subscribers, the new design of the portal offers the advanced 'Queue' feature that allows one to line-up all the movies that they wish to watch. 'Queue' once created can also be accessed from other devices like smartphones and tablets. Also, with 'Continue Watching' feature one can resume the movie from the place where he left it last, irrespective of the device he is watching it on, saving a lot of time.

Big Flicks business head Shreyash Sigtia said, "We firmly believe that this change of UI shall help our subscribers to discover the movies that they want much faster and get engaged with our service. Every change brought about has been designed keeping in mind the consumer's needs and ease. We have user's who are ardent fans of a genre or actor. We thought of making a dedicated section for them and hence gave rise to 'Collections' making it easy for them to browse through the catalogue."
