BARC week 27: Star World, Movies Now, Discovery and Living Foodz were genre leaders

MUMBAI: According to week 27 of BARC India, six Mega Cities: NCCS AB : 4+ Individuals rating, Star World replaced Zee Café on top spot in English Entertainment and Movies Now regained its top spot from Star Movies in the respective spaces.

Infotainment and Lifestyles genres did not see much change with Discovery and Living Foodz leading the spaces.

English Entertainment
Star world has moved up a position to number one in comparison to it second spot in week 26 with 176 Impressions (000s). Zee café dropped to second spot with 152 impressions (000s). Comedy central is on third spot with 105 impressions (000s).

AXN with 102 Impressions (000s) and Colors Infinity SD with 42 Impressions (000s) secured fourth and fifth positions respectively.

Movies
Movies Now repossessed its top position with 3338 impressions (000s), pushing Star Movies to second rank with 2939 impressions (000s). Sony Pix secured third spot with 2132 impressions (000s). Zee studio  was on fourth spot with 1383 Impressions (000s), followed by HBO on fifth rank with 1104 Impressions (000s).

Infotainment

Discovery continued to lead the space with 4327 impressions (000s), followed by National Geographic Channel on second position with 3627 impressions (000s). Animal Planet with 3010 impressions (000s) is on third position.

History TV18 with 2768 impressions (000s) and Nat Geo Wild with 2119 impressions (000s) were on fourth and fifth spot respectively.

Lifestyle
The space was yet again topped by Living Foodz with 1677 Impressions (000s), followed by Fox Life with 899 Impressions (000s) on second spot. Home Shop 18 was on third position with 822 impressions (000s). Food Food grabbed fourth position with 541 impressions (000s) and Shop CJ dropped a position to last spot with 539 impressions (000s).

Sun TV tops rating across genres

MUMBAI: Sun TV continued its run at the top position in week 27 of Broadcast Audience Research Council (BARC) All India data, followed by Star Plus in second place.

Sun TV reported ratings of 950112 Impression (000s), while Star Plus with a score of 705486 Impression (000s) followed.

Colors reserved the number three slot in week 27 with 646452 Impression (000s). Zee TV gained fourth place with 608027 Impressions (000s).

Zee Anmol grabbed fifth space with 474293 Impressions (000s). Star Utsav moved up to sixth place with 459621 Impressions (000’s) , while Sony Max secured seventh place with437187 Impressions (000’s).

Gemini TV held to eighth place with 433909 Impressions (000s) and Zee Telegu took ninth spot with 430625 Impressions (000s). Sony Pal bagged tenth place with 409663 Impressions (000s).

BARC week 27: Star Plus retains its lead position; Zee Anmol tops the rural HSM

MUMBAI: Even after seeing a drop in ratings, Star Plus continued to lead Urban + Rural genre and Urban Hindi speaking market (HSM), whereas in Rural HSM Zee Anmol led the genre, according to Broadcast Audience Research Council (BARC) All India data of week 27.

Urban+Rural HSM
In combined market, loss in some ratings did not affect Star Plus's lead position with 677948 Impressions (000s) against 698563 Impressions (000s) in week 26, while Colors saw a rise in ratings this week to be the second with 625834 Impressions against 618151 Impressions (000s) in week 26. It was followed by Zee TV on third slot with 584403 Impressions (000s).

Zee Network’s free to air channel grabbed the fourth position with 473813 Impressions (000s) and Star Utsav at fifth slot with 458291 Impressions (000s).

Sony Pal stood at sixth with 408104 Impressions (000s) followed by Life OK at number seven with 387371 Impressions (000s) and Sony Entertainment Television replaced Sab TV at number eighth with 361369 Impressions (000s). Sab TV fell to number nine with 356611 Impressions (000s) and Rishtey maintained its tenth spot with 289479 Impressions (000s).

Top Five Programmes
In week 27, Zee TV’s prime time show Kumkum Bhagya continued to lead the top five programmes list with 13494 Impressions (000s) followed by Zee Anmol’s Jodha Akbar with 9930 Impressions and Star Plus’ prime time show Yeh Hai Mohabbatein with 9657 Impressions (000s). On the other hand, Colors’ Comedy Nights Live entered the list and stood at number four with 8889 Impressions (000s) and Star Plus’ Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai bagged fifth slot with 8471 Impressions (000s).

Urban HSM
Star Plus garnered first position with a rise in ratings and recorded 459294 Impressions (000s) followed by Colors on second position with 435791 Impressions (000s) and Zee TV with 328823 Impressions (000s) stood at number three.

Sab TV maintained its fourth slot with 257375 Impressions (000s) followed by with Sony Entertainment Television 256479 Impressions (000s) stood at number five and Life OK stood at number sixth with 253921 Impressions (000s).

In Urban HSM, &TV climbed up at number seven with 121712 Impressions (000s) followed by Sony Pal with 107125 Impressions (000s) on eighth and Zee Anmol bagged ninth spot with 104516 Impressions (000s). Star Utsav bagged tenth spot with 104101 Impressions (000s).

Top Five programmes
In Urban HSM, Zee TV’s prime time bagged first position with 7545 Impressions (000s) followed by Colors’ Comedy Nights Live at second slot with 7176 Impressions (000s) and Star Plus’ Yeh Hai Mohabbatein with 6518 Impressions (000s).

Star Plus’ another show Dance + Season 2 bagged the fourth spot with 5915 Impressions (000s) and Colors’ Kasam stood at five with 5734 Impressions (000s).

Rural HSM
Zee Anmol continued to claim leadership position with 369297 Impressions (000’s), while Star Utsav bagged second position with 354191 Impressions (000s) followed by Sony Pal on third slot with 300979 Impressions (000s) and Zee Tv stood at four with 255580 Impressions (000s).

Star Plus replaced Rishtey at fifth spot with 218654 Impressions (000s) while Rishtey grabbed sixth spot with 204673 Impressions (000s) followed by Colors at number seven with 190043 Impressions (000s) and Life Ok which stood at eight with 133450 Impressions (000s).

Big Magic grabbed ninth spot with 119435 while Sony Entertainment Television stood at tenth 104890 Impressions (000s).

Top Five programmes
In week 27, Zee Anmol’s Jodha Akbar and Bandini booked the first and second slot with 7686 Impressions (000s) and 6198 Impressions (000s) respectively. Zee TV’s Kumkum Bhagya grabbed the third spot with 5950 Impressions (000s) followed by Zee Anmol Kasam Hai Tujhe Aa Bhi Jaa and Zee TV’s Ek THa Raja Ek Thi Rani bagged fourth and fifth slot with 4191 Impressions (000s) and 3956 Impressions (000s) respectively.

BARC week 27: Nick leads kids genre; CN jumps to second spot

[Image: Indian_Television_Dot_Com_BARC_week_27_Nick_l.png]MUMBAI: Continuing its reign as a genre lead, Viacom 18’s Nick was again the topmost watched channel in the kids entertainment segment, according to Broadcast Audience Research Council (BARC) India’s all India (U+R) data for week 27 in NCCS All 4-14 Individuals category.

The channel has bagged 81167 (000s sums) as opposed to 86062 (000s sums) impressions last week showing a drop in its ratings, Nick is followed by Turner International’s Cartoon Network which has jumped from fourth to second position by securing 68299 (000s sums) impressions from 48093 (000s sums) in week 26.

Cartoon Network is followed by Hungama from Disney India on the third spot with 57530 (000s sums) impressions and Pogo TV 56313 (000s sums) impressions giving it the fourth rank on the list.

These are followed closely at heel by Disney Channel which has seen a significant drop in its viewership from 61691 (000s sums) last week to 52522(000s sums) this week.

When it comes to the top five most watched programs in the genre, Motu Patlu and Chhota Bheem has yet again proved itselves as genre favourites.

Nick’s Motu Patlu In Double Trouble lead the chart with 1071 (000s sums), followed by Motu Patlu Mission Moon from the same franchise grabbing the second spot with with 665 (000s sums) impressions.

With a slightly lower ratings of 643 (000s sums) Motu Patlu Kungfu King Returns was third most watched show in the category while Chhota Bheem: Dholakpur To Japan was fourth in the list with 522 (000s sums).

Chhota Bheem: Dholakpur to Kathmandu was fifth in the list with 515 (000s sums) viewership impressions. Overall one could notice a drop in total viewership in the genre.

BARC week 28: AXN HD enters English entertainment space; Colors Infinity exist

MUMBAI: AXN HD enters the English entertainment space grabbing third position with Zee Cafe grabbing the numero uno position in the genre. Colors Infinity made an exit in this week’s data. Movies Now dominated the English movies space according to Broadcast Audience Research Data (BARC) India in week 28 of 2016.
Leaders in the infotainment space continue at the same position. The lifestyle genre saw a decline in ratings with NDTV Good Times entering the list.

English Entertainment
Zee Cafe stands at the number one position with 214 (‘000s) followed by Star World with 141 (‘000s) in the second place. The third position is secured by AXN HD with 112 (‘000s) while Comedy Central holds the fourth position with 109 (‘000s). AXN takes the fifth spot with 102 (‘000s).

English Movies
Movies Now continues to stay in the first place with 3444 (‘000s). Star Movies with 2602 (‘000s) and Sony Pix with 1907 (‘000s) grabbed the second and the third positions respectively. HBO secured the fourth position with 1291 (‘000s) followed be Zee Studio with 1154 (‘000s) in the fifth place.

Infotainment
Discovery continues to lead the space with 4488 impressions (000s), followed by National Geographic Channel on second position with 3195 impressions (000s). Animal Planet with 2732 impressions (000s) is on third position. History TV18 with 2335 impressions (000s) and Nat Geo Wild with 2017 impressions (000s) are on fourth and fifth spot respectively.

Lifestyle
Living Foodz with 1749 Impressions (000s) and Fox Life with 740 Impressions (000s) took the first and the second spot respectively. TLC is on third position with 634 impressions (000s). Food Food grabbed fourth position with 517 impressions (000s) and NDTV Good Times took the fifth berth with 245 impressions (000s).

BARC week 28: Zee TV toppled Colors to claim second spot in Urban+ Rural HSM

MUMBAI: Star Plus continued to lead the Hindi general entertainment channel (GEC) genre in Urban+ Rural Hindi speaking market while Zee TV replaced Colors on second spot in week 28, as per Broadcast Audience Research Council (BARC) India. On the other Zee Anmol continued to dominate rural HSM and Star Plus led the Hindi GEC in Urban market again.

Urban + Rural HSM
Star Plus maintained its leadership position with rise in ratings and recorded 720065 Impressions (000s) against 677948 Impressions (000s) in week 27 while Zee TV toppled Colors to claim second position with 597092 Impressions (000s) followed by Colors at third spot with 584267 Impressions (000s).

Zee network’s free to air channel grabbed the fourth position with 465506 Impressions (000s) and Star Utsav at five slot with 436719 Impressions (000s).

Life OK stood at sixth with 410265 Impressions (000s) followed by Sony Pal at number seven with 407413 Impressions (000s) and Sony Entertainment Television replaced Sab TV at number eighth with 381519 Impressions (000s). Sab TV on number nine with 345082 Impressions (000s) and Rishtey maintained its tenth spot with 284467 Impressions (000s).

Rural HSM
Zee Anmol witnessed a dip in ratings but continued to top the list with 358649 Impressions (000s) against 369297 Impressions (000’s) followed by Star Utsav bagged second position with 333048 Impressions (000s) and Sony Pal on third slot with 301028 Impressions (000s). Zee Tv maintained its fourth position with 263056 Impressions (000s).

Star Plus claimed fifth spot with 238011 Impressions (000s) while Rishtey grabbed sixth spot with 202464 Impressions (000s) followed by Colors at number seven with 174902 Impressions (000s) and Life Ok which stood at eight with 141456 Impressions (000s).

Big Magic grabbed ninth spot with 106029 while Sony Entertainment Television stood at tenth 103676 Impressions (000s).

Urban HSM
Star Plus garnered first position with a rise in ratings and recorded 482054 Impressions (000s) against 459294 Impressions (000s) in week 27 followed by Colors on second position with 409365 Impressions (000s) and Zee TV with 334037 Impressions (000s) stood at number three.

Sony Entertainment Television replaced Sab TV at fourth spot with 277843 Impressions (000s) followed by Life Ok at fifth with 268809 Impressions (000s).

Sab TV fell to sixth spot and recorded 257074 Impressions (000s).

In Urban HSM, &TV maintained its number seven position with 116628 Impressions (000s) followed by Zee Anmol with 106857 Impressions (000s) on eighth and Sony Pal bagged ninth spot with 106386 Impressions (000s). Star Utsav bagged tenth spot with 103672 Impressions (000s).

Ratings increase for English News, Hindi News and Business News players

MUMBAI: While on one hand players in English news genre observed a substantial increase in ratings, channels in the English business news space witnessed decline in ratings except for Bloomberg TV. Meanwhile, both the Hindi news and business news genres saw growth in their viewership data.

According to week 28 of BARC rating, genre leaders continued to dominate their respective space.

English News
Times Now with an increase in ratings remained as the undisputable leader by dominating the space with 262 Impressions (000s) as compared to 215 Impressions (000s) in week 27. NDTV 24x7 secured its second position with 130 Impressions (000s) followed by India Today Television at third spot with 109 Impressions (000s).

CNN News18 with 84 Impressions (000s) held fourth spot, followed by News X on last rank with 64 Impressions (000s).

English Business News
CNBC TV 18 remained on its first spot with 72 Impressions (000s), followed by ET Now on second rank with 48 Impressions (000s). NDTV Profit and NDTV Prime bagged third position with 15 Impressions (000s). Bloomberg TV with 11 Impressions (000s) held on fourth position.

Hindi News
Aaj Tak maintained its number one position with 73334 Impressions (000s). India TV bagged the second rank with 65756 Impressions (000s), followed by India News on third position with 52552 Impressions (000s).
ABP News grabbed the fourth spot with 46940 Impressions (000s) while News Nation with 46539 Impressions (000s) took the fifth berth.

Hindi Business News
CNBC Awaaz observed an increase in ratings ranking number one with 733 Impressions (000s) this week to 695 Impressions (000s) in week 27. Zee Business also saw a rise in rating of 522 Impressions (000s) in comparison to 441 Impressions (000s) in week 27.

BARC week 29: English business news, Hindi news & business news observe ratings increase

MUMBAI: Times Now continued as the undisputed leader in the English News space while CNBC TV 18 dominated the English business news genre. In the Hindi news genre Aaj Tak continued to lead whereas CNBC Awaaz ranked number one in Hindi Business News.

According to week 29 Broadcast Audience Research Council (BARC) All India data, the English news genre has seen mixed ratings. Meanwhile, players in the English business news, Hindi news and Hindi business news space witnessed hike in ratings.

English news
Times Now maintained its first position with 243 Impressions (000s). India Today Television returned to second position with 131 Impressions (000s). CNN News18 took the third berth with 127 Impressions (000s). NDTV 24x7 grabbed the fourth spot with 83 Impressions (000s) whereas News X sustained its fifth position with 66 Impressions (000s).

English business news
CNBC TV 18 expanded its ratings securing its number one position with 103 Impressions (000s) as to 72 Impressions (000s) in week 28 followed by ET Now that secured the second slot with 67 Impressions (000s). NDTV Profit and NDTV Prime with 25 Impressions (000s) and Bloomberg TV with 20 (‘000s) Impressions (000s) took the third and fourth positions respectively.

Hindi News
Aaj Tak witnessed growth in its viewership and stood at the first spot with 78572 Impressions (000s) as compared to 73334 Impressions (000s) in week 28, while India TV took the second position with 74606 Impressions (000s). India News sustained its third position with 53592 Impressions (000s) followed by ABP News securing the fourth position with 52640 Impressions (000s). News Nation took the fifth position with 49121 Impressions (000s).

Hindi business news
CNBC Awaaz saw an increase in the ratings at the first spot with 839 Impressions (000s) as compared to 733 Impressions (000s) in week 28. Zee Business stood at the second spot with 666 Impressions (000s) as compared to 522 Impressions (000s) in last week.

BARC week 29: Star Utsav emerges as the no.1 channel in Rural HSM

MUMBAI: Star Plus continued to lead the Hindi general entertainment channel (GEC) genre in Urban+ Rural Hindi speaking market (HSM) whereas Zee TV maintained its position at second slot as per Broadcast Audience Research Council (BARC) India ratings for week 29. On the other hand Star Utsav emerged as the number one channel in rural HSM, pushing down Zee Anmol, which had ruled the top spot earlier.

Urban + Rural HSM
Even after witnessing a fall in ratings, Star Plus continued to lead the Hindi general entertainment channel genre with 696376 Impressions (000s) against 720065 Impressions (000s) in last week while Zee TV maintained its second position with 636898 Impressions (000s) followed by Colors on third spot with 584678 Impressions (000s).

Star India’s free to air channel Star Utsav grabbed the fourth position with 450259 Impressions (000s) and Life OK was at the fifth slot with 437569 Impressions (000s).

Zee Anmol stood at sixth with 433515 Impressions (000s) followed by Sony Pal at number seven with 413606 Impressions (000s) and Sony Entertainment Television at number eighth with 359426 Impressions (000s). Sab TV on number nine with 358682 Impressions (000s) and Rishtey maintained its tenth spot with 289896 Impressions (000s).

Rural HSM
In week 29, Star Utsav toppled Zee Anmol and grabbed leadership position with 348824 Impressions (000s) followed by Zee Anmol at second position with 329641 Impressions (000s) and Sony Pal on third slot with 313911 Impressions (000s). Zee TV maintained its fourth position with 280475 Impressions (000s).

Star Plus garnered fifth spot with 218160 Impressions (000s) while Rishtey grabbed sixth spot with 204803 Impressions (000s) followed by Colors at number seven with 169977 Impressions (000s) and Life Ok which stood at eight with 150327 Impressions (000s).

Big Magic grabbed ninth spot with 102056 while Sony Entertainment Television stood at tenth 100707 Impressions (000s).

Urban HSM
Star Plus garnered first position with 478215Impressions (000s) followed by Colors on second position with 414701 Impressions (000s) and Zee TV with 356423Impressions (000s) stood at number three.

Zee TV bagged third place with 356423 Impressions (000s). Life OK grabbed the fourth spot with 287242 Impressions (000s) followed by Sab TV at fifth with 266242 Impressions (000s) and Sony entertainment television with 258719 Impressions (000s).

In Urban HSM, &TV maintained its number seven position with 114297 Impressions (000s) followed by Zee Anmol with 103873 Impressions (000s) on eighth and Star Utsavl bagged ninth spot with 101436 Impressions (000s). Sony Pal bagged tenth spot with 99695 Impressions (000s).

BARC week 29: Sun TV continues to dominate across genres

MUMBAI: Sun TV continued to lead across genres in week 29, while Star Plus maintained its position at second slot as per the Broadcast Audience research council all India data.

Sun TV grabbed the leadership position with 933363 Impressions (000s) followed by Star Plus on second position with 738822 Impressions (000s) and Zee TV which stood at number three with 669333 Impressions (000s).

Colors bagged the fourth slot in the tally with 608861 Impressions (000s) followed by Sony Max with 462800 Impressions (000s) and Star Utsav with 451746 Impression s(000s) stood at number six.

Life OK garnered seventh spot with 448612 impression s(000s).

Zee Anmol and Gemini TV bagged eighth and ninth spot with 434284 Impressions (000s) and 431517 Impressions (000s) respectively.

ETV Telugu maintained its presence in top ten and stood at number ten with 431517 Impressions (000s.)
