Reliance Jio Prime members can now get up to 10GB additional data with ‘buy one get one free’ offer
With the ‘Happy New Year’ offer coming to an end on March 31, Reliance Jio recently announced an extension for the same in the form of ‘Prime’ membership. The new membership plan offers good data benefits over the existing non-prime membership plan. And now to sweeten the deal even further, Reliance Jio has introduced a new ‘buy one get one free’ offer for Prime members.
If you have paid Rs 99, the Jio Prime plan and its benefits will come into effect starting April 1 2017. Users will have to recharge with a minimum of Rs 149 in every 28 days to continue the Prime membership. However, to avail the benefits of the new ‘buy one get one free’ offer, users will have to recharge with Rs 303 and above before March 31. The offer was first spotted by Twitter user Sanjay Bafna.
Benefits of Jio’s ‘buy one get one free’ offer
Jio is offering benefits in terms of booster plans. After making a recharge of Rs 303, Jio will offer a booster plan worth Rs 201, which offers 5GB of data. And for those making a recharge of Rs 499 and above, Jio will be offering a booster plan of Rs 301, which offers 10GB of data. These data plans don’t come with any validity and can be used as long as the validity of your pack. Also, the free benefits of these data add-ons will be automatically given by Jio, but the company has not clarified exactly when.
How does the booster plan work
Now, many may be puzzled as to how exactly will this work, but we’ve got you covered. For instance, if you recharge with Rs 303 every month, Jio Prime members get unlimited voice calls, 100 SMS and data benefits of 1GB / day, after which speeds will be throttled to 128Kbps. The speeds are again restored post midnight.
Imagine a situation where you exhausted 1GB of your daily data by afternoon 3PM and your speeds get throttled. In this case, the booster plan will kick in and you can enjoy high-speed internet till 12AM. Now, when the speeds of daily plan gets restored at midnight, the booster plan will automatically get deactivated, until you don’t exhaust your daily limit of 1GB. One of the benefits of this plan is that you can enjoy high-speed downloads even when your daily pack limit is exhausted.
So, in a nutshell, with the Rs 303 plan, you get 1GB per day (up to 28GB in 28 days) and 5GB booster, making it up to 33GB. The Rs 499 plan gives you 2GB per day (up to 56GB in 28 days) and 10GB booster, making it up to 66GB.
