Samsung Wireless Power Bank, Wireless Charging Duo pad launched; Price in India starts at Rs 3,699

Samsung is expanding its wireless ecosystem portfolio in India with a launch of two new products. The company has launched two products – a wireless power bank and a wireless charging duo pad allowing you to wirelessly charge your compatible devices. The Qi-certified devices will let you charge your wireless charging capable Galaxy smartphones, Galaxy Watch and Galaxy Buds truly wireless headphones. The wireless power bank from Samsung is priced at Rs 3,699, whereas the wireless charging duo pad will set you back by Rs 5,999.

Samsung Wireless Power Bank features
The Wireless power bank from Samsung comes with a slim aluminium body. It comes with a large capacity 10,000mAh battery and support for Quick Charge 2.0 and Adaptive Fast Charging. It can charge two devices at the time – wired and wirelessly.

It is compatible with S-series smartphones (Galaxy S6 and above), and Galaxy Note-series (Galaxy Note 7 and above). You can also charge other smartphones such as iPhone, Huawei and LG phones that are Qi certified.

Samsung Wireless Charging Duo pad features
Launched alongside the Galaxy Note 9, the Samsung wireless charging duo pad has finally made its way to India. It comes with Fast Charge 2.0 tech that charges Galaxy S10 devices up to 30 minutes faster compared to the previous versions.

The charging pad conveniently lets you charge your smartphone and Galaxy Watch at the same time. It is also compatible with other Qi-certified devices.

Xiaomi Mi Bunny Reading Pen launching on Children’s Day for 199 yuan (~$28)

Xiaomi will be launching a new gadget for kids on May 27 which happens to be the international Children’s day. The product is dubbed Mi Bunny Reading Pen, designed to serve as a learning aid for children. The gadget will cost just 199 yuan (~$28) when it goes on sale at 10 AM on May 27.

The Mi Bunny Reading Pen adopts a simple, portable, yet beautiful design. The design and features are almost similar to the Machine Island AI Reading Pen that was launched in January this year. It is manufactured using materials that meet the US FDA food contact standard. The device has a built-in speaker that is loud enough. There is equally a story player and there is a button to playback the story with just a click.

This is an optical pen and it houses 22 beautifully-readable picture books, which are specially designed for enlightenment. It comes with the content of the Mi Bunny story machine, as well as the walking story machine. The device supports the addition of up to 500+ picture books. There is also bilingual learning (English and Chinese) which makes learning in Chinese and English easy.

A team of first-line early childhood education experts who contributed to the development of the product has tailored it for Chinese children of 2 years and above. It can help in improving the core competencies of cognition, language, psychology, socialization and self-care. There are over 1200 knowledge points, 2000+ English words crammed inside the resources on the pen.

Bose Noise Cancelling Headphones 700, Earbuds 500/700 announced

Months after launching a new range of smart speakers and Soundbars in India, Bose has now unveiled the Noise Cancelling Headphones 700 as its latest flagship wireless noise cancelling headphones. The Headphones 700 will come with Bluetooth and a battery life of up to 20 hours for a price of $399 (approx. Rs 27,900). Bose has also announced the Bose Earbuds 500 and Bose Earbuds 700.

The Headphones 700 sits atop the old high-end QC 35 II with a new over-ear design and thinner profile. The headphones come with a four-microphone array, touch controls, a 3.5mm headphone jack to play music in a wired manner and a USB-C port for charging. Bose says the battery inside the Noise Cancelling Headphones 700 will be able to last to up to 20 hours on full-fledged usage.

The Bose Headphones 700 comes with voice control which can be selected between Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant, depending upon a user’s personal preference. This voice control functionality is aided by the new adaptive microphone system which helps isolate the user’s sound from the background noise. The four microphone array also offers 10 levels of noise cancellation when playing music.

A new feature labelled Conversation mode has been added to the headphones to allow users to pause music when you fancy a chat. There’s also Bose AR which uses Augmented Reality to get information based on the real world to offer audio content tailored to where you are and what you’re doing.

Moving on, the Bose Earbuds 500 and Bose Earbuds 700 are truly wireless compact earbuds which aren’t due till 2020. The Earbuds 500 and 700 will also support Bose AR like the Headphones 700.

Xiaomi announces two new Xiao Ai smart speakers, starts at ¥169 (~$24)

The smart speaker comes in black with a rectangular prism design. On the top are the controls which include the play/pause button, volume control buttons and the microphone mute button. It weighs 468 grams and is 140 millimeters tall.

The smart speaker’s main function is its ability to control several smart home products. Xiaomi says it can control up to 5000 different smart home products. It is able to connect to these products either via Wi-Fi, Infrared, and Bluetooth. For example, it can connect to the Mijia Bluetooth Temperature and Humidity sensor and you can ask the speaker what the temperature or humidity is and it will get the readings from the sensor. That way, you don’t have to get up to check the readings on the sensor or open the Mijia app to view the readings.

Xiaomi MIJIA Smart Door Lock with fingerprint sensor, NFC & Bluetooth launched

At the Mijia smart home new product launch conference held yesterday, Xiaomi also launched the MIJIA Smart Door Lock with a push-pull release. The device comes with a 1699 yuan($245) price tag and is scheduled to go on sale at 10 AM on June 28.

The Mijia smart door lock’s push-pull design integrates the fingerprint module with the handle. Thus, even though you didn’t go out with a key, you just put your finger at the sensor and the door is opened.

The gadget also comes with a built-in in-line lock cylinder which is located inside the lock body. Thus, even if the panel is damaged, the lock core function is still intact. The lock core has built-in electronic sensor. If the shackle or the key is not pulled out, you get a reminder on your smartphone or smart band.

Apart from the fingerprint unlock method, the MIJIA Smart Door lock supports five other unlock methods, bringing flexibility to the home door lock system. There is a numeric password unlock method, mobile phone unlock option using Bluetooth, and there is an NFC-enabled unlock method. The device also comes with a mechanical key hole. Perhaps, if you want to grant someone access to your house temporarily, you can also set a temporary password. In addition, the door lock comes integrated with 15 safety protection schemes, closed structure, and defence against small black box unlocking.

Xiaomi Mijia smart door lock can also be paired with other smart home equipment. For instance, it can be connected with the smart air conditioner such that when the door lock is opened, the air conditioner comes on. The door lock can also be used to adjust the temperature. This also applies to the smart light and other smart home gadgets.

Sony launches WI-C310, WI-C200 wireless in-ear headphones in India starting at Rs 2,490

Sony India has expanded its wireless headphones catalogue with the launch of the Sony WI-C310 and WI-C200 wireless neckband style headphones in India. The earphones come with voice assist functions, magnetic housing and are available in India for a starting price of Rs 2,490.

The Sony WI-C310 and WI-C200 wireless earphones offer music on the move through Bluetooth connectivity. The devices can offer a battery life of up to 15 hours of playback and comes with a quick charge function that gives users 60 minutes of playback in just 10 minutes of charging.

The wireless in-ear headphones additionally come with Voice Assist function which can trigger either Google Assistant or Siri depending upon the device it’s connected to. There’s an inbuilt microphone which allows users to ask Google Assistant or Siri execute several tasks like checking the weather, listen to music and setting reminders. Users can also press the multi-function button on the earphones twice to get instant access to Siri or Google Assistant.

Both Sony wireless earphones come with 9mm driver units and frequency response of 20 Hz–20,000 Hz. Each earbud has a built-in magnet for tangle-free carrying and storage and can be used around-the-neck when not in use. Sony claims that the WI-C310 and WI-C200 earphones weigh in at 15 grams and can be carried all day long.

In addition to quick charging, the earphones come with a Type C cable and can be fully charged in three hours.

The Sony WI-C310 and Sony WI-C200 wireless in-ear headphones will be available across all Sony Centers and major electronic stores in India. The Sony WI-C200 has been listed on Sony India website for a price of Rs 2,490 and is available in Black and White colours. The Sony WI-C310, on the other hand, can be purchased on Gold, Blue and Black colours though its price hasn’t been revealed yet.
