Samsung launches flexible U Flex headphones with Bixby integration

Samsung has announced a new pair of headphones – U Flex – and as the name suggests, the headphones are flexible. The headphones come in a bendable design and are light-weight, so they can be carried everywhere. The headphones are bendable up to 100 degrees, meaning they can be easily scrunched up and stored in small spaces. The headphones are designed in a way to help them retain their shape even when bent. However, Samsung does mention that the headphones will lose their shape or break if bent over 100 degrees and constantly.

The headphones come with an around the neck design and splash-resistant coating. While they cannot be used underwater, they can withstand occasional splashes. Coming to the earbuds, the buds are designed with dual speaker units – the first is an 11-millimeter woofer and the second is an 8-millimeter tweeter. Both work together to improve the quality of sound. As said by Samsung, “Combined, the speakers guarantee crisp, balanced sound across the entire frequency spectrum.” Samsung has also designed a Scalable Codec technology to help the earphones minimize disturbance from wireless sources like external Wi-Fi signals that interfere with Bluetooth reception.

The earphones are compatible with Samsung devices running Android 7.0 OS and above. The controls for the headphones are located on the edges of the band that is worn around the neck. On the left is the power button, along with the volume keys as well as the play/pause buttons. On the right-hand side is the Bixby button or as Samsung calls it, the Active Key. The Active Key can be assigned multiple tasks and can help the user access apps like Clock, Timer, Samsung Health, Favorites, and Bixby.

The headphones can be paired with a Samsung smartphone using the Samsung Level App and the functions can be accessed from the app. The advanced settings for the U Flex headphones can be customized through the app. Apart from Bixby, the headphones are also compatible with Samsung S Voice Assistant and can be used for devices other than the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+. The headphones come with vibration notification for calls and messages.

While the battery specifications are unknown, the headphones come with 10-hours of playback time on a single charge. Samsung U Flex headphones are available in Black, Blue, and Silver. The pricing and availability are yet to be revealed by Samsung. However, the headphones are already listed on the global Samsung website and the official launch is ideally not too far off.

Audeze iSine 10 Review: You’ve never heard in-ears like this before

Headphone drivers are responsible for how your headset it sounds, and the technology that goes into it has its own set of positives and limitations. While planar magnetic driver technology is widely considered to be significantly superior to standard dynamic drivers, limitations due to driver size and the power requirements means that in-ear headphones must use either dynamic or balanced armature drivers in order to stick to a convenient size.

Enter Audeze, a young headphone manufacturing company that has quickly risen in reputation to be considered one of the leading makers of premium headphones in the world. Pioneering the planar magnetic technology, Audeze’s products are usually large and need external amplification to drive. But of late, the company has successfully brought the technology to smaller products that can be driven by even your smartphone.

One such product is the Audeze iSine 10. Priced from Rs 26,900, the iSine 10 is the world’s first in-ear headset to feature planar magnetic drivers, which is a significant engineering feat. With the convenience of size and the capabilities of planar magnetic technology, the Audeze iSine 10 promises a lot. Does it live up to the price and expectations? Find out in our review.

Audeze iSine 10 Design and Specifications
Considering that planar magnetic drivers are known for being large, it’s a marvel that the iSine 10 even exists. However, although this is undoubtedly a pair of in-ear headphones, it’s a rather large and awkward looking set at that. Although the stalk and tips fit snugly in your ears, the casings that hold the drivers are significantly larger. This means that you’ll need the included ear-hooks to keep the headphones in place, which might be a bit uncomfortable for some.

And as is also the case with most planar magnetic headphones, the Audeze iSine 10 is open-backed, which means that people around you will be able to hear what you’re listening to, and to some extent you can also hear what is going on around you, so don’t expect superior sonic isolation. In order to keep the overall weight of the ear casings low, the construction is plastic, with metal used only for the logo and the protective grille. This is a bit disappointing, but does indeed make it a bit more comfortable to wear. The detachable ear hooks are also made of plastic and are available in two color options, both in the box.

The cables that run from the ear casings to the 3.5mm plug or Apple-compatible Lightning port are detachable, and you can choose which to buy depending on the device you intend to use the headphones with. With the dropping of the 3.5mm jack on the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus, the CIPHER cable might be a better bet if you have one of those phones, but this also bumps up the price to Rs 29,900. If you use any other phone or portable media player as a source device, you’ll want the regular 3.5mm cable.

The company is looking to add the local language support for Alexa and it is currently working on Hindi and Tamil languages. Amazin Echo is currently selling for $179 in the United States and is a direct competitor to Google's new home speaker 'Home'.

Both Google Home and Amazon Echo are two Bluetooth enabled speakers which come with Google Assistant and Alexa (Personal Assistants) respectively. The devices give you informative answers to your questions of any domain and also perform tasks like play music, and other day-to-day miscellaneous tasks like set reminders etc.

For Amazon, India is one of the most important markets and the company has launched a slew of products for the Indian consumers in past few months. Dodocool DA145 Soft Silicone Antislip EarHooks for Apple EarPods and AirPods

Now, here is a product that Apple didn’t manage to make as ergonomic as it’s gotten us used to! Earphones aren’t the strong field of Apple, and although the sound they produce is acceptable for their price tag, their ergonomics isn’t. Both EarPods (the wired pair of headphones) and AirPods, the latest Bluetooth headset from Apple, have a poor grip when used and can easily for from your ear. Especially for the AirPods, something like that wouldn’t be very pleasing, as they cost a hell lot of money.

But don’t worry anymore as Dodocool has you covered with its Dodocool DA145 silicone anti-slip ear hooks specifically designed for EarPods and AirPods. Dodocool Earbuds are designed to improve comfort, stability and fit when wearing your Apple EarPods and AirPods. To comfortably fit each individual ear, three different sizes are available. Soft and comfortable silicone material provides great noise isolation, improve in-ear stability and a lasting comfortable fit. So, you get two birds with one stone: Keep earphones in place and provide superior audio experience.

The Dodocool DA145 EarHooks are available at a discounted price on Amazon. Check the full details here and see the links to various Amazon stores.

Chuwi Hi-Dock Review: Great and Effective

It seems every new device that we get comes with a USB charger. Phones, tablets, speakers and more and all charged using USB. When you start to load up on devices and they come with their own power brick and after a while you run out of places to plug them in! That is where USB charging stations come in. They make it easy to charge multiple devices at once and typically you are only taking up a single power outlet. Chuwi’s Hi-Dock gives you 4 powered USB ports for your devices. If you have multiple devices that need charged via USB then this is definitely a product you want to look at. Let’s take a look and see what it’s all about.

Chuwi Hi-Dock Features
– Charge 4 smartphones, tablets or iPad simultaneously
– Space-saving design for your countertop
– Input: 100-240 V AC
– Output: 12 watts (5 volts DC @ 2.4 amps) for 3 ports, and 17 watts (5 volts DC @ 3.4 amps max) for the rest
– Qualcomm quick charge 3.0

I’ve been using the Chuwi Hi-Dock to charge my phones and tablets for over a month now and I don’t have anything terribly profound to say about it. It works. It works well. It charges 4 devices including iPads and tablets as quickly as possible. The output for 3 USB port is 12 watts (5 volts DC @ 2.4 amps) and 1 USB port is 17watts max (5 vlots DC @ 3.4 amps) for each charging bay.

Chuwi Hi-Dock is a multi-device charger that will charge four of your devices (or any USB mobile device) at once, it had no problem during my testing charging multiple smartphones at once, or adding tablets and iPad to the mix.

The Chuwi Hi-Dock does what it says it does and it does it brilliantly. It charged all of my devices without issue and it did it fairly quickly. The Hi-Dock is a solid product, though, and I feel good giving it 4 out of 5 stars. Hit the links below to check out the charging dock and to pick up your Chuwi Hi-Dock.

The Dodocool DA120 USB Cable Lets You Charge Any of Your Devices

It isn’t uncommon for people to own multiple mobile devices including more than one smartphone as well as a tablet. But in the current state of mobile technology, where there are at least three major connector standards in the market, people usually end up having to bring a few cables to make sure they have one each type of port or connector.

Dodocool wants to solve this problem with its latest DA120 USB cable, which allows users to switch the connector from the older micro-USB connector to either a USB Type-C or Lightning connector, making the cable usable for three different sets of devices. The cable, which measures 3.3 feet or 1 meter, also supports fast charging up to 2.4A of current.

The Dodocool DA120 USB cable is available on Amazon with a price tag of $11.99, which is pretty affordable considering it takes the place of three cables.
