Its better to use a 250GB, 320GB or 500GB USB External Hard Disk or a 16GB or 32GB Pen Drive than all this circus.

The "plasticy" Power Supply Unit in the pack is of a very very inferior quality. Within some hours of use it turns hot and on continuous use, it blows off with a "phut" and burning smell (Cannot use power supply continuously for longer duration).

I had got this SATA/IDE to USB adapter from Haryana. Within 2 months, the power supply got burnt and now I use Intex branded SMPS to run it Big Grin

I use it to connect my very old desktop 80GB IDE Hard Disk Drive to my new Acer Laptop.

Yes you are absolutly right and I was allso using it first time and ask the shop keeper for its quality,He ask me as it is of Infearer quality so I was going to post about it,so I recomend all friends not to use this power supply for HDD,If possible pl use ure PC SMPS supply or make available any good regulated power supply recomended by PC hardware shop .

NOTE: The supply included in pack also get heated in short time so I use it for only half an hour and then replace with PC SMPS.

Every user can't buy a new External HDD as these are very costly,My Idea was who have any Extra HDD in their PC etc can use by this hardware, I am also using a 16GB Pen drive, But all know the Audio/Video contents are hungry of space so HDD are the best option .

When the price will come down then the best option would be SSD

Hello Friends,

I am new to this field and techniques. After a bit of reading I understand SOLID is a preferred brand and I plan to buy it. I found two models of SOLID being discussed here :-
1) the SOLID HDS2 2100 MPEG4 DVB-S2 HD 1080p Satellite Receiver
and 2) the SOLID HDS2 3000 MPEG4 DVB-S2 HD 1080p Satellite Receiver

Can someone tell me how these two STBs are different and which one is better?

Thank you.

Welcome friend singh sahib after reading this review you can't ignore SOLID HDS2 3000 MPEG4 DVB-S2 HD 1080p Satellite Receiver.

But There is another new models in market now name as Solid-9300 and Solid-9210, these HD boxes are updated version with biskey + 8x1 and 16x1 DisCqe switch support but no aac Audio codec working, But MDS-2 3000 model has these aac Audio codec (Dolby digital).

Now it depend upon you if you don't want 8x1 switch + biskey support then go for MDS-2 3000 model and it support 4x1 switch + aac codec ok
