Zee Business Organises Financial Markets Conclave 2010

Realising the need for a platform where the best minds from the world of Equities, Mutual Funds and Commodities could come together to deliberate on key issues ranging from future challenges and opportunities, initiatives needed to strengthen our markets, emerging investment opportunities to how the Indian and global market is expected to play out in 2010, Zee Business in association with MCX Stock Exchange set the stage by organizing a unique meet titled Financial Markets Conclave in Mumbai today.

The conclave began with the 7 biggest names in the Indian stock markets speaking on “Where to Invest in 2010,” perhaps for the first time on Indian television. Big Bull Rakesh Jhunjhunwala, Edelweiss’ Rasesh Shah, Anand Rathi, Shankar Sharma, Enam chairman Vallabh Bhanshali, investment wizard Gul Teckchandani and Ramesh Damani were part of the inaugural forum.

The conclave featured a number of discussion forums and breakaway sessions during the day with market experts such as Deena Mehta of Asit C Mehta; Motilal Oswal, Chairman, Motilal Oswal Securities; Nilesh Shah, Deputy MD, ICICI Prudential AMC; BC Khatua, Chairman, FMC; Madhusudan Kela, Head of Equities, Reliance Mutual Fund; Anup Bagchi, ED, ICICI Securities, C Jayaram, ED, Kotak Mahindra Bank, VP Chaturvedi, Managing Director, Tata Mutual Fund; Sanjay Sinha, MD, DBS Cholamandalam and many more.

Salman Khurshid, Union Minister of Corporate Affairs graced the award ceremony with his presence as the chief guest. Other key people present at the awards function from the political circle included Gopinath Munde, Dy Leader of Opposition, Lok Shbha, Deepinder Hooda, Member of Parliament, Lok Sabha, Kirit Somaiya, Former MP and President of Investors Grievance Forum and Mahesh Jethmalani, Senior Lawyer and BJP Leader.

Nominations for the Awards were invited from stock broking companies and fund houses and were judged on overall returns achieved for the stocks / commodities / sectors / companies the analysts tracked in the period January 2009 to September 2009. This was over and above the 3 research reports submitted by each of the nominees. The final nominations were screened and winners in each category selected by an eminent jury comprising Investment Wizard Gul Tekchandani as the chairman of the jury, Spice Financial Services Group President Sudip Bandyopadhyay, Reliance Capital Exchange Business President Rajnikant Patel, the suave CEO of MCX Stock Exchange U Venkataraman, Investment and Capital Market Chairman of Assocham S K Jindal and the Deputy Managing Director of MCX P K Singhal.
