dishtv offers BJP an advertising medium

Just came to know that BJP (Leading political party in india) had a deal with dishtv to advertise their election campaign on dishtv's platform.

That is now you can also see BJP's advertisement/ Ad campaign/ Election campaign on dishtv platform on their channel 999 and also branding on News active and bhakti active channels.

I think its good for BJP as well, as dishtv currently have more then 5 million subscribers or 25 million viewers and with their ad compaign BJP will have a direct access to these 25 miilion viewers. and also to all the part of india, that is they can reach to remote areas in india as well where people don't have any access to internet and even cable tv and through dishtv they will be able to campaign and advertise in that areas as well. As dishtv is having a reach in all india and also in remote areas where people don't have any cable or internet and there only dishtv is their source of gaining latest knowledge and information and entertainment.

Aiming to cash in on the upcoming general elections, direct-to-home (DTH) major Dish TV today said it has signed an advertising pact with the Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) and is in discussion with other parties, including the Congress.

The Zee Group firm will advertise BJP's 'Strong Leader, Decisive Government' election campaign on their platform for the forthcoming general elections, Dish TV said in a statement.

"The Congress and other regional parties are also in touch with us for advertising their election campaigns on our platform," Dish TV Chief Operating Officer Salil Kapoor said.

The advertising campaign of BJP will have ad spots running on Dish TV's default landing interactive channel, apart from branding on the the News Active and Bhakti Active services.

"With over five million subscribers, Dish TV is filling the void in the advertising market by providing highly targeted medium to reach consumers within uncluttered advertising environment that easily distinguishes itself," Kapoor said.
