Reliance Communications’ (RCom), DTH subsidiary, Big TV launched a campaign targeted towards rural subscribers and titled ‘Entertaining and Educating Rural Andhra’ to create awareness about DTH services. Educational institutes and IT sector is also intended to be part of the campaign.

The campaign will involve Big TV rolling out its float vans with Big TV branding and top loaded with a dummy dish. The ground activation of the company has already conducted one such campaign in Kakinada by installing more than 3000 connections during the entertainment and educational promotion. The team claims that more than 90 percent of the town was connected with Big TV DTH making it the first of its kind promotional campaign by a DTH service provider.

The first phase will involve tapping Vijaywada, Vizag, Tirupati, Kurnool, Warangal, Srikakulam and surrounding rural towns.

To increase brand awareness and visibility, Reliance Big TV DTH has embarked on an ‘Entertaining and Educating Rural Andhra’ promotion to demystify the common belief that direct-to-home digital TV is largely an urban need.

The campaign will also cover remote educational institutions and IT sector across Andhra Pradesh. As part of its on-ground activation, Big TV has rolled out float vans with Big TV branding and loaded with dummy dish for doing the rural rounds in the state.

“The on-ground team has already captured small towns like Kakinada by installing more than 3,000 connections during the promotion. And, more than 90 per cent of the town was connected with Big TV DTH with the nameplate of the house with Big TV branding,” a company release said on Monday. Vijayawada, Visakhapatnam, Tirupati, Kurnool, Srikakulam, Warangal and surrounding rural towns are being targeted in the first phase.
