Vedika Amin, who broke national mark is all smiles.

Vedika Amin and Armaan Sikka, both from Otters Club set the pool ablaze with their record-breaking efforts on the opening day of the annual Maharashtra State age group aquatic meet organized by the Maharashtra State Amateur Aquatic Association in association with the Greater Mumbai Amateur Aquatic Association at Goregaon Sports Club at their sprawling Olympic size swimming pool here today. The day proved to be out and out Mumbai show with all the five new meet records (including nationals) were set by the local swimmers.

Vedika’s timing of 1:21.36 seconds in the  girls group III 100m breast stroke event bettered the national record of Karnataka’s Vania Kapoor, who had clocked 1:21.96 seconds in 2013. Another Otters boy Armaan Sikka was credited with two new records in the corresponding boys category. Armaan won the 100m butterfly and freestyle events.
