Google to notify Android users when new devices are added to their accounts - rahul1117_kumar - 08-02-2016

Google will now start alerting Android users about newly added devices. Whenever new devices are added to your Google account, you will get a push notifications on your Android device.

Prior to this feature, when a user logged-in from a different device into their Google accounts, they received an email notifying them about log-in from an unrecognized device. The notification will ask, “Did you just sign in?” If the activity appears suspicious, you will be able to take immediate action. If the activity looks suspicious, the user can choose to “Review Account Activity,” and find out what device was added, from what location, and other important information. If the activity is expected, the user can dismiss it as any other notification. Tapping on the notification will let you view the type of device, its IP address and when and where it logged in to your account.

Google says, Android users are up to four times as likely to review the information as compared to email notifications. The latest feature is gradually rolling out over the next two weeks to all end users.
