BCCI invites applications for India's head coach - nairrk - 05-26-2017

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) have invited applications for the role of India's head coach which will be vacant post the Champions Trophy. The current coach Anil Kumble's tenure ends after the mega event in England but he will be considered once again by the BCCI, who confirmed that the 46-year-old will have a direct entry.

Kumble was appointed the coach in June 2016 for a period of 12 months, and under his term, the national side registered series wins over West Indies, New Zealand, England, Bangladesh and Australia. They are currently at the top of the Test rankings.

"To ensure a fair and completely transparent process, a nominee of the Committee of Administrators (CoA) will oversee the entire process along with the Cricket Advisory Committee," the BCCI said in a media release on Thursday (May 25).

The Cricket Advisory Committee which comprises of former cricketers Sachin Tendulkar, Sourav Ganguly and VVS Laxman, will then select the ideal candidate for the job after conducting interviews and analysing presentations made by the candidates.

The board has set May 31, 2017, as the deadline for the interested candidates to apply for the role.
