Coolpad Cool Play 6 launched in Sheen Black color option - nairrk - 11-04-2017

After launching it in India back in August, Coolpad has now launched a new color option for the Cool Play 6. A Sheen Black color option has been launched, which is also priced at Rs 14,999, like the other color three months ago. Last month, Coolpad also launched a Gold color variant of the smartphone. The smartphone is exclusively available on Amazon India.

Other than the color options, all the specifications remain the same. To recall, the Coolpad Cool Play 6 features a 5.5-inch display with full HD ( 1920×1080 pixels) resolution. Under the hood, the smartphone is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 653 octa-core SoC clocked at 1.4GHz, and paired with 6GB of RAM. Also on offer is 64GB of internal storage.

For photography, the smartphone sports a pair of 13-megapixel dual-camera at the rear, with f/2.0 aperture, phase detection autofocus (PDAF), and dual-tone LED flash. Up front is an 8-megapixel selfie camera with f/2.2 aperture.

Fuelling the device is a 4,000mAh battery, which the company claims is good enough to offer a standby time of up to 300 hours. For connectivity, the smartphone offers options like USB Type-C port, dual-SIM card slots, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth. On the software front, the Cool Play 6 runs on Android 7.1.1 Nougat out-of-the-box. Further, Coolpad has also announced that it will be providing Android 8.0 OTA update by December 2017 for the Cool Play 6 smartphone.

In its given price tag and specifications, the Coolpad Cool Play 6 competes against the likes of Honor 6X, and Lenovo K8 Note. To make a quick comparison, the Honor 6X, with prices starting from Rs 12,999, sports a 12-megapixel sensor to capture photos, and a 2-megapixel secondary sensor to capture depth information. The Lenovo K8 Note, on the other hand, is priced at Rs 12,999. It comes with a combination of 13-megapixel primary sensor and 5-megapixel depth sensor at the back. The camera capture depth-of-field information for Bokeh effect. The rear camera has a dual-LED CCT flash module. On the front, there is a 13-megapixel camera with an aperture of f/2.2.
