Raavan is much awaited movie from Mani Ratnam, as it has the main stars Aishwarya Rai, Abhishek Bachchan and also the stars from tamil. Raavan movie is going to release in three languages (Tamil, Telugu and Hindi). Raavan is directed and co-written by Mani Ratnam. Raavan movie is a loose version of the great Indian epic Ramayana. The story is about married women Sita (Aishwarya Rai) who got kidnapped by a guy with negative shade, Abhishek Bachchan. Sita is the wife of the policeman who killed Abhishek’s sister. Ravana is the protagonist, an anti hero who is doing it to take retribution on the cop who shamed his sister and was responsible for her death.

R. Rahman is the composer of the soundtrack for the film and the lyrics are penned by Gulzar. Movie has 6 songs and an additional song was also performed by Rahman at the audio launch. Music of the song was released on 24 April 2010 by T-Series. The songs in the movie are:

‘Raavanan’ is produced under the banner of Madras Talkies at a budget of Rs. 55 crores. Mani Ratnam has not compromised anything for the quality as his home production. For a particular scene, he has even carried specific dogs that look like wolves from Australia at Rs.3 crores.

Raavan Movie Story:

Dev falls in love with Ragini who is a spunky classical dancer and eccentric as him. They get married and he takes up his new post in Lal Maati, a small town in northern India. In this town, the word of law is not the police but Beera, a tribal who has, over the years, shifted the power equation of the place from the verdict to the have-nots of the area. Dev supervises to rip open Beera’s word in one stroke, and set in motion a chain of events which will claim lives, change fortunes. At that time, Beera injured but he engaged hits back starting a battle that draws Dev, Beera and Ragini into the jungle, which is dense, confusing, and scary. In this journey, they must face up to their own truth as a journey which will test their beliefs, convictions and emotions. The forest becomes the battleground the fight between good and evil, between Dev and Beera, between Ram and Raavan. Love is a battle that nobody wins but everyone must battle. A Police Officer, sita’s husband who always thinks negatively does not have the best of relationship with his wife as he is dedicated more to his brother.
